57 Year Reunion Fish Fry

Another year has gone by and the Fish Fry is over!!

At the Fish Fry several of our Military Veterans were honored with a Quilts Of Valor quilt.  Our Guest Member, Cathy Anderson is a member of the QOV organization and worked with the QOV Organization to get the quilts for our Veterans.

Cathy made an anouncement at the beginning of her presentation, but it was very noisy in our room, and if you could not hear what she said, this is it:

"Members make 12.5 inch red white and blue star blocks…in designs of each individual choosing. (My group is called “The Stars” that is why we like to make star blocks).  The blocks are then mailed to a lady in New Hampshire where they are arranged and assembled into a quilt top. From there the quilt tops are mailed to members who quilt them. When a request is submitted for presentation, the unfinished quilt is sent to the requesting member to complete and then to present to a serviceman. The completion process involves binding the quilt and a then adding a label."

"It is an honor to present these quilts."  Cathy Anderson

QOV Quilts presentations must be done in a formal setting, and not just given to a veteran.  Veterans also recieve an Award Cetificate from the QOV Foundation.
